World Book Day

6th Mar 2026

World Book Day at St. Joseph’s was a truly fantastic celebration of stories, imagination, and creativity—especially in Mrs. Connor’s class, where the children have been diving into the wonderful world of Fantastic Mr. Fox.

To bring the much loved Roald Dahl classic to life, the children were encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite characters from the book. Our classroom was soon filled with clever foxes, determined farmers, and all sorts of imaginative interpretations of the story. The children loved stepping into the shoes of their chosen characters and proudly sharing who they were.

Even Mrs. Connor joined in the fun—arriving dressed as Fantastic Mr. Fox himself! Her costume brought smiles to everyone’s faces and added an extra bit of sparkle to an already joyful day.

Our celebrations continued with an amazing World Book Day assembly, where every child in the school had the chance to stand up proudly and share which character they had dressed up as. The hall was a sea of colour, creativity, and excitement as pupils spoke confidently about their book choices. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to appreciate the magic of reading and the fun of storytelling.

All in all, it was another fantastic day in the life of St. Joseph’s—one filled with imagination, laughter, and a shared love of books.
