Shared Education Update – Animation Project Continues at Newcastle Primary School
Our Shared Education partnership with Newcastle Primary School continued this week as Mrs. Connor’s class from St Joseph’s travelled to Newcastle Primary School for the next stage of their World War II animation project.
Building on the storyboards the children created together during the previous visit, pupils from both schools were reunited and worked in their mixed groups once again—this time in the fantastic computer suite at Newcastle Primary.
Bringing Storyboards to Life
Using Just2Easy (J2E), the children set to work transforming their storyboard plans into real digital animations. They uploaded backgrounds, created characters, added movement, and began shaping each scene of their evacuee journey. It was wonderful to watch the pupils collaborate so naturally, sharing ideas, problem?solving together, and supporting one another as they brought their stories to life.
The children really enjoyed the experience of working side?by?side with their partners in the computer suite. Many commented on how exciting it was to see their drawings and captions turn into an actual animation on the screen. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork were evident throughout the morning.
Animations Ready to Share
We are incredibly proud of the work the children have produced so far. Each animation shows not only their digital skills, but also their understanding of what life was like for children who were evacuated during World War II.
A QR code will be included below so parents and families can watch the finished animations at home. We hope you enjoy seeing the wonderful results of the children’s hard work and collaboration.
Our Shared Education project continues to provide valuable opportunities for learning, friendship, and creativity, and we look forward to the next stage of our partnership with Newcastle Primary School.
