Primary 6 and 7 enjoyed a fantastic shared education experience with Newcastle Primary School throughout Term 1. Together, the classes explored The Titanic: Our Shared History, learning about the ship’s construction, its local connections, and the people whose lives were shaped by the tragedy. Pupils collaborated through group tasks, creative activities, and discussions that helped them understand not only the historical importance of the Titanic but also the value of working and learning alongside others from a different school community.
The project gave pupils the chance to build new friendships, develop teamwork skills, and strengthen their confidence as young learners. Both schools embraced the opportunity to learn together in a fun, supportive environment, and the enthusiasm from the children was clear throughout every session.
Looking ahead, the pupils are already excited for Term 2, when they will take part in the Peace Players Project, continuing to deepen connections and learn through shared experiences.
