School Council
We are delighted to announce the members of our 2024–2025 School Council. This year’s representatives are:
James, Jessica, Shauna, Eva, Clodagh, Dáithí and Ethan
These pupils were chosen because they show leadership, kindness, responsibility and a real interest in making our school an even better place for everyone.
What Is a School Council?
A School Council is a group of pupils elected by their classmates to represent the voices and ideas of all children in the school.
It gives pupils a real say in how things are run and encourages them to take an active role in school life.
Our School Council:
- Listens to the ideas and suggestions of their classmates
- Shares these ideas with teachers and school leaders
- Helps make decisions that improve our school
- Leads projects, events and initiatives
- Gives every child a voice so everyone feels included and valued
By being part of the council, children learn communication, teamwork, confidence and problem?solving—skills that will help them throughout their lives.
A Successful Start!
Our School Council is already off to a fantastic start!
They recently organised a very successful Red Day fundraiser, which brought the whole school community together. Thanks to their hard work (and all your generous support!), the event raised funds that will go directly towards improving our school.
Well done to all involved!
Ideas the School Council Will Be Exploring This Year
Here are some of the exciting initiatives our council may take on:
- Friendship and Well?Being Week
- Improving playground areas or equipment
- Book swap or reading buddy programme
- Eco?friendly projects (recycling, litter patrol, planting flowers)
- Charity events and theme days
- A suggestions box so all pupils can share their ideas
- Art or poster competitions
- Helping with assemblies or school tours
The council will meet regularly to discuss these ideas and more, always keeping pupils’ voices at the heart of everything they do.
