P6&7 Cherry blossom art study
This art study focuses on the Cherry Blossom tree. For the children it was more than just a pretty picture, it was a look at natures timing and the idea that beauty is special because it doesn’t last forever. The children learnt to make different shades of pink and white to make the flowers look real by looking closely at the five petals and the tiny stems inside the flower. By the end of the lesson the children had improved their drawing skills while learning how art can tell a story. Some of the children made nature scenes from nature-found objects as part of Earth Day. They collected leaves, twigs, petals and stones to create masterpieces. The children learnt that providing beautiful art doesn’t need to cost the Earth.
