Money Matters
Primary 6 & 7 children have been looking at why we need money. They have been learning to recognise and understand the value of money in our society. They had discussions about how money comes into the household and what people use money for nowadays. The children learnt to distinguish between essential costs (like food and housing) and extras (like gaming subscriptions or trendy clothes), helping them to understand the value of prioritising. The big question was asking the children what it means to save up for a rainy day! They were giving a task of designing an outdoor play area suitable for all the children in our school with a budget of £20,000. By the end of the topic the children had a good understanding on money and realised it really doesn’t grow on trees.
