Fantastic Fox Tails in Mrs. Connor’s Class!

4th Mar 2026

As part of our whole school Readathon and our celebrations for World Book Day, Mrs. Connor’s class has been diving into the wonderful world of Fantastic Mr. Fox. To bring the story to life, we spent the week creating our very own fox tails—and what a fantastic time we had!

The children began by using a tail shaped template, carefully tracing the outline onto bright orange material. With the help of the adults in the room, everyone then stapled their material around the template, beginning to see their fox tails take shape.

Next came the really fun part—stuffing the tails to make them fluffy and full! Once each tail was nicely padded, we closed up the end so it kept its perfect fox shape.

To finish, the pupils added a touch of magic by using soft white fluffy material to create that iconic tip of a fox’s tail. The results were absolutely brilliant, and every child now has their own fantastic tail inspired by the clever and crafty Mr. Fox.

We can’t wait to celebrate World Book Day on Friday, when the whole class will be dressing up as characters from Fantastic Mr. Fox. It’s going to be a truly foxtastic day!
