Catholic schools week
Catholic Schools Week is always a very special and meaningful time in our school community, and this year was no exception. Throughout the week, pupils and staff joined together in prayer, reflection, creativity and celebration as we explored this year’s theme: Grandparents – A Blessing for the Family.
On Friday 23rd January, our pupils attended a beautiful, uplifting Mass to mark the occasion. The children sang with great joy and reverence, filling the church with music that reflected the importance of the day. As the theme centred on grandparents, we were delighted to welcome the whole school community back to school afterwards for tea, scones, biscuits and buns. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to gather, chat and celebrate the special role grandparents play in our lives.
Throughout the week, each year group took part in special RE activities linked to the theme of Catholic Schools Week.
-
Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils learned about Saint Carlo Acutis, exploring his life, faith and inspiring example. The children created beautiful portraits of Carlo, showing great care and creativity.
-
Primary 4 and Primary 5 wrote thoughtful and heartfelt prayers for their grandparents, expressing gratitude, love and hope.
-
Primary 1 and Primary 2 produced amazing drawings of their grandparents, capturing their personalities with colour and imagination.
The week was filled with moments of faith, learning and togetherness. Catholic Schools Week reminds us of the values at the heart of our school—community, kindness, gratitude and love. We are proud of all our pupils for the enthusiasm and reverence they showed throughout the celebrations.
We thank everyone who joined us and helped make this week so memorable. Catholic Schools Week truly is a highlight of our school year.
