Another fantastic GAA session with Benny

23rd Apr 2026

We had another fantastic training session this week with the amazing Benny Coulter, who once again motivated and inspired the children from start to finish.

The session began with a lively warmup, including stretching to loosen our muscles, followed by running and jumping activities to get everyone moving and ready. The children then moved on to skill work using tennis balls, where they practised throwing, catching and toe tapping, helping to develop coordination and control.

Before starting the games, Benny took time to remind the children of the rules of Gaelic football, reinforcing the importance of fair play and teamwork. The group was then divided into teams for a highly competitive and exciting game of football. Both sides showed great determination and skill, but Ollie’s team emerged victorious after an excellent performance.

A special mention goes to Shea, who amazed everyone by taking a goal kick that flew all the way into the basketball net — a brilliant and memorable moment!

We would like to say a huge thank you to Benny for giving his time, encouragement and expertise each week. With Down taking on Donegal this Sunday in the first round of the Championship, spirits are high and we are all really hoping for a Down victory.

Come on Down!
